Tisha Rivera was born in Orange County, California, in a suburb of Los Angeles. She began taking acting classes as a child and was cast in her first television commercial at age 8. She continued to be committed to studying the acting craft while garnering her college and graduate school education. She became a college professor at age 22 and finished her doctoral coursework in Psychology at age 24. She has studied acting and trained with many distinguished coaches in Los Angeles, including The Actors Room, AIA Studios, private lessons with numerous coaches, and college theater training, as well as participated in numerous acting workshops.
Her talent, positive attitude, and strong work ethic have helped her to land roles and appearances in 21 independent films and 7 television shows as of 2010. Tisha remains dedicated to working on television and film projects as an actor and producer. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and is currently developing an original television series.
Tisha’s hobbies include photography, running marathons, kick boxing, volunteering her time with disadvantaged children, and motivational speaking. She is considered an expert in child development and early childhood education and has worked as a preschool teacher, elementary school teacher, social worker, parent educator, Court Appointed Special Advocate, Child Abuse Services Team member, in-home educator for developmentally-delayed infants and toddlers, and professor at various colleges and universities. Tisha also holds a California State Real Estate Broker license and a Notary Public license. Her diverse professional experiences dealing with families and individuals first hand have provided Tisha with a rich background to draw from in her acting career. In addition, her intensive Real Estate Broker training has provided her with a strong business sense and enabled her to advance her acting career to a higher level.
